Computers

This section of the North Devon Retro Archive is dedicated to the home computers that shaped the early days of personal computing, gaming, and creativity. From classic 8-bit micros that introduced a generation to BASIC programming, to more powerful 16- and 32-bit machines that blurred the line between home and professional use, these systems represent an important period in computing history. Each machine in this category is part of my personal collection and has been preserved as a snapshot of how people actually used computers at the time.

Many of the computers listed here were designed to do far more than just play games — they were used for education, word processing, music, art, and experimentation. Where possible, entries include photographs, technical details, and notes about condition, upgrades, and personal experiences. This archive continues to grow as systems are restored, repaired, and documented, helping to keep the history of home computing alive and accessible.
