  1. Hi,

    Thanks for your post!

I had an Amiga 500 back in the 90s and have fond memories of Kick Off 2, Lotus Turbo Challenge 2, Speedball 2, etc.

About 6 years ago I decided to get back into Amiga gaming and I too purchased the Amiga 500 Plus Cartoon Classics pack. I straight away removed the battery which thankfully hadn’t caused any damage to the motherboard.

It has the rev8 board with 2mb 8375 Agnus so I added the extra 1mb chip RAM in the trapdoor expansion. I don’t think many games really took advantage of this but it allows me to run the Charlie Chaplain animation in Deluxe Paint III haha!

I’ve built up a fairly decent collection of games over the years – my most recent purchase being Rodland which I’ve wanted for a while.

My favourite Amiga game though would have to be ‘It Came From The Desert’. The intro still sends a chill down my spine!

    • I’ve not got many original Amiga games I as run everything off the CF card, but I do actually have Rodland. It’s one of my favourite platformers. I also have originals of Monkey Island 1&2 and Simon the Sorcerer as I love point and click adventures also 🙂

      • Love point and click adventures too. Currently working my way through Simon the Sorcerer and Cruise for a Corpse!
