Description
I know my title says 1 of 20, but bear with me. Im not lying! 😅
This is 1 of 40 prototype ASICs for the Sam Coupe computer. It cost MGT £50,000 to get these 40 chips produced and once the Sam had gone into production, these ASICs were rounded up and some were sold to people within the Sam community.
20 of them were framed and signed by the late Bruce Gordon, the designer of the Sam, who sadly passed away in 2024.
This is one of those 20 and I am so happy to have it in my collection. I have not seen any of these go up for sale for quite a while now so they are incredibly rare.
The ASIC is a fully functional prototype, so will work fine in an original Sam. These are said to be of much higher quality than the mass produced versions too
